On Thursday 23rd June 2016 P7 pupils came together to celebrate their time at Newark Primary. Everyone dressed really smartly and came along to the school hall to eat, drink, be merry and celebrate with their friends. Staff commented on how all pupils came to enjoy themselves and many pupils complained of sore feet after a night of dancing! Well done to all pupils for their enthusiasm and good humour throughout the evening! We will miss you when you go to high school!

They worked together to overcome some team challenges. Many pupils faced their fears and challenged themselves. The staff were very proud of the behaviour and attitude of everyone. Well done to all!
Learning in Action Week P7
On Friday 4th October, the parents of P7 pupils were invited to observe and participate in a gymnastics lesson. During the previous weeks, pupils had been working on creating individual gymnastic sequences which incorporated balances, rolls and jumps. During the lesson, various stations were set up around the hall for parents to observe gymnastic skills (e.g. individual sequences, group sequences, full horse for jumps/flips, half horse for rolls, balances and jumps, wall bars encouraging freedom of movement, balance beams).

Tom Palmer Visit
On Tuesday 20th August renowned children’s author Tom Palmer came to visit Newark Primary. He held a workshop for the P5, 6 and 7 pupils and tested our reading skills in a fun and interactive way. Some people who answered questions correctly took part in an exciting penalty shoot out, with the eventual winner Ross McVitie taking home the trophy.
