On Tuesday 5th May, we hosted a celebration of our achievements as a rights respecting cluster of schools. Kilmacolm Primary, St Francis’ Primary, St Michael’s Primary, Craigmarloch School, Port Glasgow High School and St Steven’s High School all joined us in Newark.
Our key note speaker was the Corporate Director, Education, Communities & Organisational Development, Patricia Cassidy.
The children presented the work they had done so far on their journeys to be a rights respecting school. Gerry McMurtrie, Children’s Rights & Information Officer, expressed his delight that Port Glasgow schools cluster were working as a partnership to develop children’s rights.
Young people from 3rd year at Port Glasgow High School helped all the schools to role play a bullying scenario that the children could then perform to their respective schools.
