The Youth Music Initiative (YMI) exists to provide young people throughout Scotland with inspiring and engaging musical experiences. These musical experiences take place within schools to enable access and participation for all. 

The Scottish Government provides funding via Creative Scotland for each of Scotland’s 32 local authorities to run a Youth Music Initiative programme.
