Gender Based Violence

Stirling schools are committed to progressing the learning and thinking of children and young people around violence through a gendered lens. We know that girls, women, boys and men can all be harmed by gender-based violence.

Gender-based violence includes: domestic abuse (physical abuse, coercive control, sexual abuse and financial abuse), sexual abuse and rape, FGM, forced marriage, stalking and commercial sexual exploitation.

The RSHPE Network comprising Early Years – Youth colleagues has continued to moderate learning and teaching materials as part of the national development of RSHPE resources for CfE Early Level – Senior Phase. These teaching materials focus strongly on healthy relationships and consent, a corner-stone of eradicating gender-based violence.

All development work continues to be aligned to the key drivers for Education within the national delivery plan, Equally Safe.
