What’s happening this December in Nursery?

This week in nursery we are very busy making Christmas surprises and enjoying the start of Advent.  We are learning about the Christmas Story and why we give presents and celebrate at this time of year.  It’s a very different Christmas this year as we are not allowed to sing inside, so unfortunately, no concert!  We hope you are hearing some of our lovely Christmas songs at home instead.

We  the week from 7th to 11th December, our Christmas Jumper week.  Initially we had just planned it for a day, but as many of our children do not attend every day, it seems fairer to have it over a week instead.

On 7th December, the Rainbow Room groups will be having a special, virtual trip to the Panto to see Beauty and the Beast, performed by the Fizzgig Theatre Company, who usually perform at Mugdock at Christmastime. We’ll be watching it on our big screen- socially distanced, with covid restrictions on audience verbal participation!  Oh Yes We Will!!!!

The Rainbow Room Christmas Party for the Kittens, the Bear Cubs, the Puppies and the Piglets is on 10th December.  Children are welcome to dress up if they like, and there will be party games and some Christmas snacks.  There is a rumour that there might even be a sighting of the old man in red, who might just be passing our door!

On Monday 14th December we are changing rooms and it will be the turn of the new Rainbows to be off to the virtual theatre with their friends with their viewing of Beauty and the Beast.

The Rainbow Room Christmas Party for the Giraffe calves, the Tadpoles, the Joeys and the Ducklings  is on Tuesday 15th December.  Details as above and, if we are very lucky, Santa might just be passing through Milngavie again, and give us a wave!

Things are different, but they are still going to be lots of fun!!!
