We received the following email from Anne Madsen, asking for volunteers to help clear up the school garden for Spring.  If you have never been at one of our gardening  days, it is great fun.  It is a chance to meet up with other parents and families, help the school maintain our amazing garden and have wonderful food afterwards!  Here’s Anne’s email:

Subject: school garden day Sunday 24th April 1:30

Hi All

I made a plan to have the next school garden day when the snow cleared but instead have had to wait until spring sort of arrived.

It is short notice but the next garden day is going to be a week on Sunday, 24th April, starting at 1:30 and with Katie Risk’s great food afterwards (about 4pm)

The tasks for the day will be clearing, weeding and raking over the growing beds as the school are about to plant the grow a meal seeds

I will be meeting the council on the Friday before to go over the orchard plans with them so I will be able to update everyone on the plan and set a date for a first work session on the ground.

On Sunday you will need gloves, tools (rakes and trowels especially).

As always children are welcome if they bring an adult along with them.

Hope to see loads of you there, please let me know if you are coming so that Katie can make the right amount of food.

Please forward this to anyone who may come along as I only have a few e-mail addresses.

Anne Madsen
