We are delighted to have Graham Ogilvie at the conference. He is an artist and will be capturing the main themes, messages and talking points of the event as a storyboard gallery which we will be using as a feedback tool. Graham will provide lots of post-it ‘thumbs-up’ stickers which you simply stick onto any picture which resonates with you.  . . and please feel free to chat with Graham if you would like a specific message captured .

In February 2010 the Scottish Government launched an Action Plan for Child Internet Safety and Responsible Use. As part of this programme of work a one-day conference is being organized by Learning and Teaching Scotland with ELT Events on behalf of the Scottish Government to look at some of the practical issues and solutions surrounding this very important issues.

This will be a high level conference aimed at Heads of Service, Local Authority Staff, Child Protection Officers, Parent Council Chairs and School Management Teams. The content of the conference will include a blend of important information regarding Internet Safety and Responsible Use in education and practical solutions for dealing with emerging issues.

The conference will be opened by Adam Ingram, MSP and as well as keynote presentations from industry experts delegates will also be offered a choice of workshops from some of the UKs leading practitioners.

Workshop titles include:

• Internet Safety and Responsible Use of Early Years and Childminders
• Internet Safety and Responsible Use for Children with Additional Support Needs
• Internet Safety and Responsible Use in Primary Schools
• Internet Safety and Responsible Use in Secondary Schools
• A Local Authority Approach to Internet Safety and Responsible Use
• How to keep Parents and Staff Up-to-date

Each Local Education Authority has been allocated a number of free places. Authorities unable to accept their full allocation of places will have their places re-distributed to other education partners. Other key stakeholders, representatives from other public bodies and teaching unions have also been invited to attend.
