WELCOME TO THE MATHEMATICS AND NUMERACY DEPARTMENT
DEPARTMENT AIMS:
The Mathematics Department aims:
- To enable pupils to develop to their full potential, the mathematical skills and understanding required for their personal needs both in and out of school.
- To prepare pupils for the future demands of adult life and employment.
- To encourage the desire for lifelong learning.
The main purpose of this Blog is to provide a resource for pupils at all levels. Our hope is to develop these pages to become a toolkit for all Pupils in S1-S6 as well as providing information to parents/carers on how to support each young person at home.
The Maths Department partake in several extra curriculum activities that aim to support and enrich the Maths learning experience.
Homework club is available in the department each Monday after school from 3.45pm-4.30pm. It’s a great opportunity to for pupils to extra support with not just homework but any revision required. Homework club is flexible and pupils can drop in when necessary.
All S4-S6 are invited to supported study sessions each week after school. Supported Study is strongly recommended for all pupils and provides extra preparation for exams. During these sessions pupils can work through exam revision materials or ask for support with any classwork/homework. The Supported Study Timetable is below:-
