Attendance Campaign August 2023
We are using radio adverts, bus advertising and social media to promote school attendance.

How can schools get involved?
- Host an attendance assembly to discuss the campaign and raise awareness. You may wish to download and use the Attendance Assembly Presentation Resources from Children’s Commissioner:
- Primary Attendance Assembly Presentation
- Secondary Attendance Assembly Presentation
- Deliver pupil workshops to raise awareness of the importance of attending school. You may wish to download and use our Attendance Workshop.
- Introduce an attendance mascot (cuddly toy/character) to promote positive attendance.
- Encourage pupils, families and staff to listen to our adverts on Forth One radio and keep an eye out for our bus adverts and articles on Facebook.
- Share our campaign with parent and pupil councils.
- Share our campaign via newsletters and school website.
- Raise awareness of attendance at events such as Parents’ Evening and Meet-the-Teacher. You may wish to share our Attendance Video and Attendance Supports Thinglink for parents and carers.
- Staff can visit our Interactive Attendance Guide or watch our Attendance Video for staff to learn more about attendance and get advice on how to improve attendance within their roles.
