Internet Archive

The Internet Archive has a huge collection of digital resources of all sorts. It supplies an embed code to embed them on your blog.

You need to have activated the Jetpack Plugin and the shortcode module.

for example:

[archiveorg 78_boum_charles-trenet-trenet_gbia0122226a width=640 height=50 frameborder=0 webkitallowfullscreen=true mozallowfullscreen=true]

gives you:

and:
[archiveorg HowtoUse1927 width=640 height=480 frameborder=0 webkitallowfullscreen=true mozallowfullscreen=true]

Google Video

First you need to make sure the Jetpack plugin is activated and the shortcode module is turned on.

A video in your google drive can be embedded:

  1. Upload to GoogleDrive
  2. Open The Google Video page and choose Share from the vertical ellipsis at the top right.
  3. In the Advanced settings make the video Public on the Web
  4. From the vertical ellipsis menu choose open in a new window.
  5. In the window that opens choose embed from the  vertical ellipsis menu.
  6. copy the embed code and paste into the editor in the Text view.
  7. on saving it will be converted into a shortcode like this:

[googleapps domain="drive" dir="file/d/1H-oJO4UbdAuxXRYCFEJJo-ZwYKA4CR0C/preview" query="" width="640" height="480" /]

YouTube Video

Just paste in a youtube url and the player is embedded.

You can also paste in the embed code from YouTube and it will be converted to a shortcode, this is handy if you want to customise the video size or other options. For example avoid showing related videos.

Alternatively you can add ?rel=0 after the url before pasting it in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2wrYBPLsxg?rel=0

Which will hide related videos.

Or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMmwxn7XBkw&w=600&h=600rel=0 which allows you to control the dimensions.

If you are wanting to do more than embed one or two videos you might find the Embed Plus for YouTube plugin handy.
