Helping my child at school

Supporting Your Child and Our School

At our school, there are numerous ways for you to play an active role in supporting both your child’s education and the overall school community.

1. Homework Support: Your engagement in your child’s homework is highly valuable. Supporting them with their assignments and studies is crucial for their academic growth.

2. Shared Home Learning Tasks: Each term, every class participates in Shared Home Learning Tasks related to their specific class topics. These tasks encourage collaborative learning between parents and children, fostering a deeper understanding of classroom content.

3. P1 Language and Math Support: Parents of P1 students can find helpful Language and Math resources designed to assist children during their initial months at school. These products include Language outside/inside and Maths outside/inside. Additionally, a powerpoint presentation is available, offering insights into the curriculum and how you can best support your child’s learning journey.

4. Parent Teacher Association (PTA): Our active PTA organises fun and fundraising events throughout the year, such as Summer and Christmas Fairs, Bingo Nights, book sales, Easter quizzes, and more. The funds raised directly benefit the school community by enhancing students’ experiences, supporting school outings, and contributing to valuable resources like Smart boards.

5. Parent Council: Joining the Parent Council is another way to engage with the school community. Regular meetings, held every six weeks, provide a formal platform for parents to represent their interests. The Parent Council plays a crucial role in shaping the curriculum and School Improvement Plan, working in consultation with Miss MacDonald, our Head Teacher, and a teacher representative.

Your involvement, whether through homework support, participation in PTA events, or joining the Parent Council, greatly contributes to the success and vibrancy of our school community. We value your partnership in nurturing our students’ growth and educational experience.
