Our Polycrub and School Nutrition Action Group Committee
Earlier this year we were fortunate enough to receive a wonderful Polycrub. The pupils took on the formidable task of transforming the large hot room with a grass floor into a hot room with unlimited possibilities. Local businesses and individuals have been generous with their materials, expertise and their time to create work surfaces, a path and raised beds. We’ve already grown many items from seeds (several as suggested by pupils) including radishes, tomatoes, cucumber, sweetcorn, peas, courgette and broad beans to name but a few. We’ve sampled some of our produce already and we look forward to sampling more soon! It’s definitely been a learning curve but we hope our enthusiasm continues and we are able to share excess plants and produce with our community. We are so proud of ‘Homegrown Hut’ which will be in situ outside the school grounds. Donations to our produce are welcome!
