I believe that the purpose of the Running on the Cracks workshop was to be more aware about child runaways and that there is people out there that can help you if you do decide to run away like the police, family and the Scottish charity.

Leo’s world has been turned upside down. With her parents gone and a creepy uncle becoming too close for comfort she’s certainly sure of one thing…she must get out. Leo’s on the run. She knows what she’s running from. Problem is where is she running to?
Adapted from the novel of the same name by the internationally acclaimed children’s writer Julia Donaldson, Running on the Cracks is a fast-moving new play about runaways, identity, survival and how friendships can develop in the strangest situations.
To support the Tron Theatre’s production of Running on the Cracks, Tron Participation is offering a range of opportunities for schools, youth groups and individuals to take part in workshops, talks, performances and therapeutic drama

Bringing a group to see Running on the Cracks? Then why not book some FREE workshops.
Pre and post show workshops are on offer to groups. These will allow participants to explore the themes from the production in a practical way. Working with a drama specialist these workshops will allow groups to explore and discuss issues such as making choices, consequences, danger, protection and relationships. Post-show workshop will include a contribution from Aberlour, who we are working in partnership with on this project. They will discuss risk awareness and keeping safe if someone feels like running away.
Glow Meet
Join Julia Donaldson, children’s laureate for a Glow Meet live from the Tron on Tuesday 29th January at 1.45pm. Julia will discuss her inspiration for the book and will answer your questions. Don’t miss this opportunity to speak with one of the UK’s leading children’s author.

The pantosphere is decking the halls and rocking around their Christmas trees. Well, everywhere except one place: Dickensian Street, home of the frightful Aganeza Scrooge, the scariest skinflint in the pantosphere. A woman so tight with money she makes Fifers look generous. And Aganeza HATES Christmas! She hates those festive jumpers that her employee Bobby Scratchit keeps wearing; hates that Whiny Tim who walks around everywhere with a croquet stick; and don’t even get her started on those ghosts of panto past, present and future that have decided to keep her awake all through the night. A girl has got to get her sleep. Aganeza is on a quest to end Christmas! It’s sooooo…bah humbug.
This year’s Tron panto is an all-female spin on Charles Dickens’ classic tale ‘A Christmas Carol.’ A wildly funny, family show that will have you singing in the aisles, dancing in your seats and skipping home just like Tiny Tim.

The submissions deadline for the Tron Ambassadors scheme is tomorrow at 3pm. Be sure not to miss out. If you missed the information here it is again.
Tron Ambassadors scheme will give pupils the chance to be behind the scenes working alongside the Participation and Press/Marketing team at the Tron Theatre. It will enable pupils to make a deeper connection with the Tron Theatre and gain a better understanding of the industry.
Why:
Tron Participation would like to give pupils the opportunity to engage with the theatre industry from a different angle. We supply participatory classes in writing, performance and theatre making as well as set and costume design but what about behind the scenes? What about a department, such as Press and Marketing, who are vital in making sure a show has an audience?
What:
Ambassadors will attend ‘meet and greet’ session where they will meet the cast and creative team and then sit in on a ‘read through’. A read through is the first time the cast and creative team read through the play. Ambassadors will work at a press night, attend the reception after the show and be able to speak with industry professionals. Tron Participation will equip Ambassadors with the skills to be able to critique and review theatre through a theatre reviewing workshop. This will enable Ambassadors to review performances seen at the Tron. Ambassadors will blog about their experience and these blogs will be posted on the Tron Participation Glow group as well as the Tron Theatre website. Ambassadors will tell others about shows they have seen via social media platforms and become a steering group for future shows.
How:
The Ambassadors scheme will take six pupils from September 2012-April 2013. To be involved in the Ambassadors scheme you must be committed to attending all scheduled activities. Places are limited and so we ask only dedicated pupils to apply. Interested pupils should write about a piece of music, film or show you have recently seen. It should be no more than one side of A4 and can be written in any form you like.

Skillshops-
After our summer break all skillshops classes resumed. The P1-P3 class became roving reporters investigating local news. The P4-P7 and S1-S2 classes eased there way back in with ice breakers and improvisations and the S3-S6 class started exploring ensemble working.
Our P4-P7, S1-S2 and S3-S6 classes will work on a term of skills before setting their sights on a performance project which will happen in April and June in our main auditorium.

The Incredible Adventures of See Thru Sam –
Don’t miss out on our Glow Meet on Wednesday 12th September 2pm. This Glow Meet gives audiences the opportunity to have a sneak peek into the rehearsal room of Random Accomplice as they work on See Thru Sam which opens at the Tron Theatre on Thursday 20th September.
The Tron Theatre and Tron Participation have an exciting programme of work coming up this Autumn. It all kicks off with ‘The Incredible Adventures of See Thru Sam’ by Random Accomplice Tuesday 25th – Sat 29th September. This show is suitable for 14yrs+ and resources linked to the show are available on the Tron Participation Glow area.
We then host Catherine Wheels ‘The Ballad of Pondlife McGurk’ Wednesday 24th-Saturday 27th October. This show is suitable for audiences 9yrs+
School groups are welcome and for every 10 tickets booked you receive 1 free ticket. To book your group to any of the above shows call our box office on 0141 552 4267.
Our Skillshops classes kick off in September and bookings for these classes is now open.
