Beatson Santa Dash 2025 – Help Us Reach Our Target
Two years ago, our school community came together to raise funds for the Beatson Cancer Charity. Cancer impacts countless lives in different ways, and the Beatson continues to make an incredible difference through its compassionate care and unwavering support.
The Beatson Cancer Charity works alongside the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre – one of the leading cancer care facilities in the UK – providing vital funding for specialist staff, innovative research, and improved patient wellbeing. From emotional support and complementary therapies to cutting-edge treatments and clinical excellence, the charity ensures that patients and their families receive the best possible care at every stage of their journey.
We are proud to continue supporting the Beatson and the life-changing work they do for so many across Scotland.
This year, some of our amazing staff will be taking part in the Glasgow Santa Dash 2025 with Beatson Cancer Charity on Sunday the 7th December at Glasgow Green. Please help us to raise our fundraising target by donating to our Just Giving fundraising page. Click on the link below to access –

JRSO signing off for June 2025
Firstly we enjoyed being a JRSO because we went to the city chambers to edit videos of our work and made a full video out of our photographs and videos. It was fun to make!
Then we went to ASDA this year. We were handing out bags to people walking in and out the store about road safety. We earned flashlights because we handed them all out in under half an hour!We then started walking back and when we got back everyone started asking us about it. It was good to be part of the Wallacewell JRSO team!
Also we have did something called travel tracker which if you walked, cycled, scootered or park and stride so if you did those once a week you could earn a badge from us . This was to help people think about walking to school .
In conclusion we loved being a JRSO and we will miss it .

Happy Times
I just want to say that it has been a privilege to be a teacher at Wallacewell Primary School. The children have always contributed daily to my learning journey throughout my career. It is now time for me to retire and spent more time at my fitness classes!
THANK YOU ALL.

This week in P4a
This week, we worked really hard to prepare and present short talks about endangered animals. We learned so much about different animals and the threats they face. Everyone did so well and achieved the talk targets. We’re very proud of our efforts!

P6a
Another busy week for P6a. On Tuesday we enjoyed the sunshine at Pinkston Basin for our second visit. When on the water we were kayaking, we learnt to control the kayaks very quickly and were soon gliding through the water playing a game of conquer. The groups in the forest were challenged to build a den and then we tried to make a fire with flint and steel.
On Wednesday the class were challenged to build a marble run using limited amounts of cardboard, paper straws, masking tape and card. The end results were all so innovative and fun to play.
The class spent time on Thursday in the playground calculating speed, distance and time. Children timed themselves using stopwatches to complete activities.
P4a Weekly Update
We’ve had a fun but busy week in P4a! In maths, we’ve been revising subtraction and learning how to subtract using exchanging. In literacy, we’ve been working on writing descriptive recounts, and we also created our own comics. The highlight of the week was definitely building our own castles out of cardboard. We used everything we’ve learned about castle features, worked as a team, and showed lots of creativity. We are so proud of our finished models!
