This week the children have continued to strive for success as we approach the end of P1. This week we have performed presentations which all the children did wonderfully. We have been learning about the feeling of Guilt and explored this emotion through the story ‘Finns Little Fibs’. The children created a comic strip of this story and were able to describe what happened in each picture through writing. The children had a fantastic time at our Summer Disco and all dressed for the occasion. Finally we said goodbye to one of our wonderful classmates and celebrated them with a good bye treat! Good Luck S in your new school next year, we will miss you!

DYW Playroom – P1C
This week in our playroom the children have been exploring our Developing the Young Workforce topic and experiencing a range of different jobs through exploration and role play. The children have engaged so well in all of the play experiences provided and have used their creativity and imagination to create new roles within their play.
We continue this learning within our writing lessons this week. The children were asked ‘What do you want to be when you grow up’. Everyone was able to say what they wanted to be and give a reason for this choice.
Well done P1C for another very successful week of learning!
Music Class P1c
Last week the children loved our Music class. They were learning to use instruments and follow rhythm cards to music. The children loved getting to use each different set of instruments and they did a fantastic job working as a team. Well Done!

Lets Go Fly a Kite – P1c
Over the past few weeks, the children have be using the story ‘STUCK’ by Oliver Jeffers to explore literacy. They have been answering comprehension questions, predicting, and will be reviewing this book for our response writing next week. For homework the children were challenged to construct and design their very own kites. The final results were incredible. Well done P1c!
History Detectives – P1c
This week the children have become History Detectives! They have loved learning about the past and comparing it to the present. This week in the playroom the children have loved being in our very own ‘History Museum’. They have taken on new roles to experience working in a museum, re-creating music videos from the past, matching old pictures of their teachers to now, and drawing old computer game characters.
First week of Term 4 in P1c
Welcome back P1c, what a fantastic week have had as we transition into our last term in Primary 1. The children have worked incredibly hard and have show dedication to their learning. This week the children have enjoyed reviewing past knowledge through games and active learning stations. In HWB the children have been focusing on teamwork and collaboration. The children have really enjoyed their P.E lessons this week. They have been learning how to throw a ball to a partner and how to strike a ball with a bat. Take a look at some of our learning.
Last Week of Term 3 – P1c
What an amazing term we have had in P1c. The children have all worked so hard and are making fantastic progress. This week the children have been learning all about Easter traditions. We have had lots of fun in our playroom consolidating literacy and numeracy learning with Easter/Spring play provisions. The children created fantastic ‘Wanted’ Posters searching for the Easter bunny. All children were able to successfully describe their character and use a connective to extend their writing. In Health and Wellbeing we have been learning about Growth Mindset and that mistakes can be marvellous. We also have enjoyed being outside in the Spring sunshine playing with all of the outdoor toys and resources. As always, I am incredibly proud of all the progress the children have made. Well done P1c, have a fantastic break!
