Dear Families,

We have almost made it to the Festive Break. The children and staff at Wallacewell Primary have been working very hard and I am extremely proud of their achievements to date.

As always, thank you for your continued support. The Staff Team at  Wallacewell would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and all the very best for 2025!  We look forward to welcoming our children back to school on Monday the 6th of January 2025.

Yours

Lights! Camel! Action!

Lights! Camel! Action! Primary 1a and 1c were outstanding as they performed the annual nativity. They  sang, danced and acted their way through rehearsals and shows and “wowed” their audience who clapped, cheered and laughed. As always, we were very proud teachers.

Fundraising for the Beatson

Dear Families,

Some of you may know that last year we started fundraising for the Beatson Cancer Charity. Cancer impacts so many of us in different ways. The Beatson offer outstanding care and support to those affected by cancer. At our Christmas Fayre last week we raised £170 for the charity. For the second year running Wallacewell Primary staff and our Parent Council will also be taking part in the Santa Dash in Glasgow this coming weekend to raise money for the Beatson. Please help us to raise our target by clicking on the link below to donate –

Every little counts and everything is very much appreciated. Thank you in advance. 🧑‍🎄🎅🏻.

P1c weekly update

The children have had a jam packed week, filled with lots of learning, nativity rehearsals and time in the playroom. The children worked very hard to practise their letter formation. They enjoyed a ranged of literacy stations to consolidate their learning. In the playroom our new topic is Scotland. The children have been designing outfits for characters from the Katie Morag stories and loved ‘working’ at our own WWP tourist office.

P1c Weekly Update

This week the children have been working very hard learning in the classroom and rehearsing their Nativity songs too. In Health and Well-being we are continuing our PATHs program learning all about uncomfortable emotions. In Numeracy the children challenged themselves to find all the different number bonds to 10. The children also had a visit to our school library and got to pick a book to keep from the Book Swap as part of our schools Scottish Book Week celebrations.

P1c Playroom

The children have had a fabulous week in the playroom exploring superheroes. The children have been very creative and have been designing and constructing a variety of models. Take a look at some of our work.

Rights Respecting Schools Fundraiser

On Wednesday 20th November 2024 our Rights Respecting Schools Pupil Committee have organised a Dress Down Day as part of their global fundraising project. Suggested donation £1. Help our Rights Respecting Schools Pupil Committee to twin our toilets and fund a project in a community that helps families to build their own basic toilet, access clean water and learn about hygiene – a vital combination that saves lives.
