We had lots of fun at our first day at Pinkston!
We explored the forest and got a chance to canoe in the canal 🌲🚣♂️
We had a great time exploring and adventuring at Blair Drummond! We got to see lots of different animals and were able to use our knowledge from our topic The Rainforest to identify some of the animals and share some facts about them. We saw giraffes, lions, monkeys, rhinos and many more. We especially liked the sea lion show! 🦭
We were lucky to have visited on such a warm sunny day and make some fabulous memories with our friends ☀️🦎🦖
P6b had a fantastic time visiting our local library. We had the opportunity to explore new books and we even got to take one back to school! We got to learn about our current topic The Rainforest 🐸!
This week we kicked things off with some active maths to introduce our new maths topic ‘decimals’.
some of our learners practiced their division skills using the concrete materials available in the classroom to support our learning and understanding.
we also participated in some fitness circuits using QR codes.
To help us solidifying our new learning of converting fractions we played some active math games, showing off our new knowledge! 🤓
We also engaged with some live Gaelic lessons on teams with Joy to help us with our moderation language skills and celebrate international Gaelic day!
finally we celebrated diversity with a sing a long! We created our own diversity poems and posters too🎤
P6b have been learning all about Scotland during Scots Week and through our current topic “Scotland”. We read together the wonderful book ‘Neeps and Tatties’ by Carey Morning and Anna York. This book gave us the chance to discuss friendship and diversity. We also had the opportunity to try and translate some Scots words to help us deepen our understanding of the book. After, we created our own Neep or Tattie character, describing their personality and appearance.
The children also got to create a timeline of Scottish events. We discussed these events and the impact they had on Scottish history.
Finally we explored tartan! The children carried out their own research on tartan to create a factfile. We spoke about clans and family tartans, some children discovered their own families tartan! We then created our own tartan using chalk pastels and some black card (which was a bit messy but lots of fun!).
Breaking news!
P6b had lots of fun writing a script and filming a news report covering the winners of the golden tickets for Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory! They used a green screen to really step into the world of Willy Wonka.
Primary 6b had a lot of fun visiting our local library. We got the chance to explore books, take part in activities related to our new class topic ‘Ancient Worlds’ and borrow some books!

We signed a piece of seaweed to show our commitment and promise to follow our classroom charter.
