I hope you all received the weekly diary on Friday and have caught up with what’s going on. This is a reminder of end of term and term 2 events to put into your diary. Please remember dates may need changed but we aim to give you at least a week’s notice when we can.

Parent Council

Our Parent Council have donated money towards a very large catering set for our whole school. Thank you very much, this will be used regularly while hosting events like Ladies Lunch, charity days and many more. This has been talked about for years as we spend so much on disposable ware. Please look out for a small fundraiser to complete the purchase. Thank you!

Families Connect

Our Primary 2 Families Connect Group has been very successful. Tomorrow we will look at writing & creating stories… We will visit square cafe and the library on Tuesday 24th October, our numeracy session on the 31st October and then our final session will be in Wonder world on Tuesday 7th November.   Thank you to all taking part.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In January 2024 we will begin Families Connect for Primary 1 parents/carers & children.

• Parents evenings – Tuesday 10^th October @ 5 – 7.30pm & Wednesday 11^th October @ 3.45 – 5.30pm

All parents are invited to meet their pupil’s teacher to discuss their child’s learning and progress.

• Research Opportunity for Parents & Carers – Thursday 12th October @ 9.15 – 10.30am in Room 10. Please see flyer above & contact office if you wish to attend.

• God’s Loving Plan Information Session – Thursday 12th October @ 2pm in room 10 

All parents/carers are invited to join an information session to discuss our current teaching in Health & Well being & Relationships from P1 to P7.

Preview of term 2 events (Dates & Times subject to change)

• New Entrants for August 2024 Parent/Carer Coffee morning & afternoon.         Week beg. 23rd October. Date to be confirmed. 

We would like to invite all parents/carers in our community who has a child/ren ready for enrolment in August 2024 to attend our coffee morning/afternoon. There will be a tour of our school, an opportunity to view Primary 1 ‘in action’ and information about the benefits of enrolling your child in St Albert’s.

• ‘God’s Loving Plan’ health education information session for P6 & P7 parents’/Carers’ – Wednesday 1st November @ 2pm in room 10

All parents who have children in P6, P6/7 and P7 are invited to come along to find out more about our health education programme. This is very important to help us plan our lessons.

• Halloween Party – Tuesday 31^st October @ 5 – 6.30pm

Tickets are on sale from the office at £3, this includes Juice/water, crisps & chocolate/fruit, cakes
Recycled Halloween costumes will be available for collection at the front door. Feel free to leave any outgrown costumes for someone else to enjoy. Thank you!

• Parent Council Meeting – Wednesday 8th November @ 5 – 6.30pm

All council members are invited: agenda to follow. Child care Provided.

• Book week Scotland 6^th – 12^th November
• Class visits to Pollokshields Library
• Family book activities for P1 – P3

All P1 – P3 parents/carers are invited to join their child in reading activities & receive their Read, Write & Count packs. Date to be confirmed. 

• Mass in school to celebrate St Albert’s Day – Wednesday 15^th November @ 10.30am

All parents/Carers welcome.

• Turner Prize Art Exhibition – Thursday 30^th November @ 1.15pm
• Christmas Fayre – Friday 8^th December @ 9 – 11am
• Nativity Performance – Monday 18^th December @ 1.45pm & Tuesday 19^th December @ 9.30am
• Class Parties – Wednesday 20^th December

Family Trip June 2023

Our annual trip is now booked to Clyde Valley.. Date will be confirmed by today depending on bus availability. End of May/ Beginning of June. 

Please see courses available below free of charge. Let me know which ones you are interested in.

We are arranging a Certified First Aid Course for Parents/Carers with the Clyde College. This will run on a Friday morning. Please contact the office if you are interested in taking part. There has been no response to this.. Please let us know if there are other courses you would prefer.
