This week, we completed our final writing piece for our explanation texts. Our writing was titled “Why Did the Evacuation Happen?” We applied all the skills we have been developing, including the use of technical language and cause and effect connectives. We also incorporated advanced punctuation to further uplevel our writing. The class worked incredibly hard and should be very proud of the high standard of work produced.

In numeracy, we have completed our unit on 3D shapes, covering volume, properties and nets. We then moved on to identifying and calculating area and perimeter. Our next unit of learning will focus on negative numbers. We will explore where negative numbers appear in real life such as temperature and money.

For Health and Wellbeing, we explored into the difference between equality and equity. The class created thoughtful posters explaining both definitions and demonstrating how equality and equity are displayed within our school community.
