This week in P7B, we began exploring fractions. Our focus was on finding fraction quantities, identifying equivalent fractions, simplifying, and ordering or comparing fractions. We transferred many of our existing multiplication and division skills to help solve these problems and made good use of tools such as multiplication grids to support our learning.

In writing, we completed our Haunted House stories, using the detailed plans we had prepared earlier. We focused on creating vivid imagery through the use of similes, metaphors, and personification to bring our writing to life. Next week, we will move on to editing and improving our stories – looking carefully for errors and opportunities to uplevel our writing.

We also launched our new Enterprise topic. As a class, we discussed a range of ideas for how we might raise money, and over the coming weeks, we will continue to develop our business ideas further.
