Welcome to the very first P7B blog!
We have had a busy and exciting week, with lots of opportunities to learn, be creative and challenge ourselves.
In Literacy, we have continued our reading of Divided City. We have explored new vocabulary by using clues from the text to work out meanings, as well as developing our character analysis and inference skills. We have also been thinking about what it would be like to put ourselves in the shoes of the characters and consider their thoughts and feelings.
In Maths and Numeracy, we have been working on multiplication and division, with a particular focus on multiplying and dividing by multiples of 100. We have been using our place value knowledge to help us understand the patterns in numbers and explain our thinking.
Our STEM learning in the Creative Enquiry Room has been lots of fun! Our focus has been journeys, and we have been using recyclable materials to create vehicles that move on water and land, designing marble runs and using the green screen to create news reports about famous journeys. If you have any clean cardboard boxes or other cardboard recyclables at home, these would be greatly appreciated for our upcoming STEM activities!
During PATHS, we have been preparing presentations about respect, with a particular focus on respecting different cultures. This links closely with our IDL topic, Breaking Barriers, as we explore how we can challenge prejudice and help everyone to feel included and respected.
In PE, we have been developing our basketball skills and putting them into practice. This week, we completed our very first basketball game as a class!
What a fantastic week, P7B! We are looking forward to another week of learning and fun!
