Primary 6a Wallacewell Primary

This week in P6a!

This week P6a have made strong progress across the curriculum.

In Maths, they have been consolidating their understanding of place value by ordering and partitioning numbers, while also applying strategies for addition and subtraction in both written and mental calculations. They practised telling the time using both analogue and digital clocks, linking their skills to real-life problem solving.

In Literacy, pupils developed spelling strategies to apply patterns and rules in their independent writing. Through their comprehension work on The Girl Who Stole an Elephant, they practised finding and using evidence from the text to justify their answers, and they explored how explanation texts are structured to make information clear for a reader.

In HWB, learners identified and discussed a range of emotions, recognising how these can influence thoughts and actions, and considered strategies to manage feelings in different contexts.

In STEM, as part of the Primary Engineering Project, pupils applied creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork to design an invention that could benefit society today.
