Our week in P3B

This week in literacy, we started our new writing topic – Procedural Writing. We looked at the important features of instruction writing! we then read some instructions on how to plant a seed and how to make a pizza. We then used a book ‘How to give a woolly mammoth a bath’ and used this to write instructions. we did this in our table groups and did a great job! We also looked at how we can summarise a piece of text we had read a book about a curious clownfish and had to write a summary on it. All of these activities helped us to celebrate World Book Day. We are excited to continue this learning next week!

This week in maths we have continued with our work on fractions. We used our knowledge of more/less than and were challenged to order fractions from smallest to biggest. We have gotten really good at this and are all impressed with our learning!

This week in IDL we went to our play area and were set different activities we could choose from. Lots of us were most excited about the parrot collage. This week we also continued our work on food chains and learnt about herbivores, carnivores and omnivores, we created posters defining these words and drawing pictures to go along with them. We also looked this week at our carbon footprint and how we can reduce this.

We had a lovely week and excited for next week!
