Another week in P3a

It’s been a fun and full week in P3a, with lots of exciting learning taking place!

We began the week by exploring the months of the year and the seasons they belong to. The we continued on to look at adding tens and multiples of ten to any number. While some of us found this a little tricky at first, we showed fantastic resilience and worked hard to build our confidence and understanding.  Everyone received a new reading book this week. We’ve been working on developing our comprehension skills, and we’re making an effort to explore both fiction and non-fiction texts to widen our reading experiences.

In writing, we continued with our report writing, this time focusing on endangered animals. We were able to share our knowledge at the end of the week s P3 are leading the school journey towards our next Eco flag.

To end the week, we also had a go at coding our superheroes to save items or people. We will continue this next week.

Well done, P3a, for another fantastic week of learning!

Settling in to P3a

We have all now settled back in to school routines and enjoying being in Primary 3.  We started the term by discussing what was important in our class and together created our class charter.

We all now have our reading books which we will take home each night so we can practise our reading and in class have been working on comprehension.

Our writing focus has been on writing an information report.  We are making great progress and this week we were writing about people who can help us.

In maths we were working on place value, and looking at hundreds, tens and ones as well as 3D shapes.

Finally we we lucky enough to watch a live performance of Alice in Wonderland which we all really enjoyed.
