P3a Update

This week in P3A we have had a fantastic time and have begun practising for our Easter Showcase.

Literacy
In literacy this week, we learned when to use β€œa” and β€œan.” We also continued reading our class novel and wrote Easter acrostic poems. During our discussions, we talked about the meaning of Easter and realised that it is not only about chocolate eggs. We are excited to share some of our wonderful poems at our showcase.

Maths
In maths, we have been learning about measuring in metres and practising simple conversions between centimetres and metres. We also explored why being able to round numbers can be helpful and practised rounding two- and three-digit numbers to the nearest 10.

Other Learning
Our focus for the next few weeks is Easter, as we prepare for our showcase. We started by learning about Ash Wednesday and why people give up certain foods for Lent. In art, we learned how to blend using chalk pastels and created silhouette cross pictures.

Everyone has now been allocated their parts in the Easter showcase, and we have been busy practising our songs and lines.
