Remembrance Day
This week we began by learning about the importance of Remembrance Day and why we commemorate it.
Literacy
In literacy, some of us practised making notes from our non-fiction reading books, while others with fiction texts focused on using their senses to visualise the setting. We also began learning how to sort words into alphabetical order and used this skill to find words in a dictionary.
Maths
In maths, we explored a range of division strategies and solved calculations using the 2, 3, 4 and 5 times tables. We also practised using different coins to make the same value of money and investigated symmetry in 2D shapes.
Topic
As part of our topic work, we looked at how televisions have changed over time and compared old and new technology.
Creative Area
In the creative play area, we made cup telephones to explore sound and communication, and we created artwork inspired by pointillism.
