Itβs been a busy and exciting week filled with Halloween-themed activities!
Literacy:
This week we focused on visualisation, using our senses to imagine and describe a setting from our reading books. We then used our descriptive writing skills to create detailed descriptions of a Gingerbread House, making sure to include a range of vivid adjectives. To finish, we worked in pairs to write our own Halloween acrostic poems, which we enjoyed sharing with the class.
Maths:
In maths, we began exploring money. We started by identifying different coins, then moved on to converting between pounds and pence. During our Open Afternoon, we focused on place value and made some creative place value skeletons. It was lovely to welcome so many visitors and share our learning.
Science & Art:
In science, we learned about the lifecycle of a pumpkin, and combined our learning with art by creating beautiful mosaic pumpkin pictures. They look bright and colourful on our classroom walls π!
Halloween Fun:
We also enjoyed our Halloween discos, with lots of fantastic costumes and dancing. To end the week, we took part in a Halloween scavenger hunt, which was great fun for everyone! π§π»ββοΈ
