Meeting Learners’ Needs

At Parkview Primary School we put our children at the heart of all that we do. We work closely with our parents/carers and partnership agencies to Get It Right For Every Child (GIRFEC). We understand that every child is an individual and use Glasgow’s 4 stage intervention process to plan effectively to ensure our children’s needs are being met.

Stage 1: Additional support provided in class.

Stage 2: Additional support provided out with class, e.g. English as an Additional Language (EAL) teacher, Challenge Leader of Learning (CLOL) teacher or Support for Learning for dyslexia, dyscalculia, etc.

Your child will have a stage 2 Additional Support Needs Plan written and reviewed biannually with family.

Stage 3: Additional support provided by one external agency, e.g. Counselling.

Your child will have a Health and Wellbeing Plan (WAP) written and reviewed biannually with family.

Stage 4: Additional support provided by more than one agency or by health or social work.

Your child will have a Health and Wellbeing Plan (WAP) written and reviewed biannually with family.

If you wish to discuss your child’s needs please do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher or Michelle Watt, Depute Head Teacher.
