Since Wednesday we have been excitedly welcoming new ducklings in to the Ness Room. We have them for the next 7 days before they go back to the big wide world.

They have been named Cole, Sonny, Dwayne and Custard. We are eagerly awaiting the last duckling.  It was great fun putting them in the water for their first swim.

These are so cute. The Caledonia Centre received duck eggs from Incredible Eggs; they have now hatched!

The project lasts 10 weeks in total and their S1&S2 pupils will be watching the ducklings growing all the way. At the end of the ten weeks the ducklings go back to Incredible Eggs where they “provide a local service by supplying poultry enthusiasts, hobbyists and smallholders with quality livestock.”

The students will have a variety of learning experiences from the project including the science of living things growing, animal welfare, safeguarding biodiversity & wildlife conservation.
