Library
Librarian: Mary Rusk
Library Opening Times: Monday Tuesday and Wednesday
The library offers a welcoming and safe environment for pupils, providing a supportive space for both leisure and academic activities. It is open during intervals, allowing students to borrow books or enjoy a comfortable place to study.
The library boasts a diverse collection of fiction and non-fiction books designed to support the school curriculum and cater to students’ varied interests. Additionally, it features a curated selection of manga, comics, and graphic novels. Pupils are encouraged to take an active role in shaping the library’s collection by submitting suggestions through a dedicated Pupil Request Folder.
Each student receives a library card granting access to the online library and the Libby app, which unlocks the extensive range of Glasgow Life’s online resources.
The library actively organises events aligned with the reading calendar, including celebrations for World Book Day, Book Week Scotland, and other literary occasions.
As the school works towards achieving the Silver Reading Schools Award, the library plays a vital role in supporting this initiative by hosting engaging events and activities.
In addition, the library has facilitated author visits and live-streamed sessions with authors via the Scottish Book Trust website, enriching the reading experience for pupils and fostering a deeper love for literature.
