Believe Achieve Merits
MERITS will be awarded by class teachers using Satchel: One.
Merits can be awarded for the following reasons –
- Being helpful
- Being ready to learn
- Contributing to the school community
- Good uniform
- Demonstrating leadership
- Good effort
- High standard of classwork
- Showing kindness
- Good teamwork
- Improvement in learning
- Good homework
- Positive attitude to learning
- iPad ready for use
- Star of the week
Each time a merit is issued, a HOUSE POINT will also be awarded. At the end of each month, merit totals will be collated and House points awarded in the following order –
- 1st place – 20 points
- 2nd place – 15 points
- 3rd place – 10 points
- 4th place – 5 points
These points will be collated each month along with points from the monthly Inter-House competitions and Sports Day to decide on the winner of our annual HOUSE TROPHY and REWARD EVENT in June.
BADGES will be awarded by class teachers using Satchel: One.
Badges can be awarded in line with the school’s MONTHLY FOCUS
- August – Excellent school uniform
- September – Ready to learn
- October – Excellent timekeeping
- November – Showing kindness (Children in Need focus)
- December – Excellent attendance
- January – Excellent Homework
- February – Showing respect (Purple Friday focus)
- March – Excellent Academic Achievement (Class Champion)
- April – Positive contributions in class and/or school
- May – Positive attitude to learning.
The pupils in each year group who have received most badges for the whole school focus will be entered into a MONTHLY RAFFLE to win prizes.
There will be a PRIZE each month for a pupil in each year group from S1 to S6 based on names being picked out of the hat.
Pupils and parents/carers can keep track of their merits and badges on Satchel: One. Ask your class teachers or Mrs Kelly if you or your parent/carer need help logging in to Satchel: One.
