King’s Trust Enterprise Challenge

On Friday 27th March we welcomed the King’s Trust to the Business & Computing faculty.

We had a group of 40 S1’s participating in the King’s Enterprise Challenge where groups of young people were introduced to the concept of entrepreneurship, practicing business-style pitches and culminating in the opportunity to compete in the Business Simulation game. There were lots of really interesting business ideas from our fantastic group of students and definitely some fierce competition during the Business Simulation game.

The winning team with a whopping 18,771 points were: Leah Gold (Skye), Katie Murray (Skye)  and Shauna Fulton (Arran). Well done girls!

We are eagerly waiting to hear if the girls will make it to the National Finals where they would compete for £1000 to bring their business idea to life!

Thank you to the King’s Trust for coming in and giving out young people such a wonderful experience.

Week 29 – Caledonia Centre

Welcome to another week of exciting activities and community engagement!

This week, we continued our fantastic boxing program at Southside Boxing Academy & Community Hub. This incredible local facility is dedicated to empowering young people through sport, fitness, and personal development. Beyond teaching boxing skills, they foster confidence, discipline, and resilience in a supportive environment. We’re grateful for their commitment to our students’ physical and mental well-being!

This week we also marked and celebrated Neurodiversity Week. Our school hosted a Coffee Morning where staff and students came together to learn more about neurodiversity and the importance of creating inclusive spaces for everyone.

Our coffee morning was a wonderful opportunity for our community to connect, share conversations, and reflect on how we can continue building a more inclusive and accepting school for all.

Finally, a huge shout-out to our wonderful students who took on a challenge this week to make a positive impact! A couple of our young people headed out into our school grounds and local area to litter pick and remove rubbish, showing real environmental responsibility and care for the spaces we share.

Keep an eye out for more updates and happy first day of Spring!

CyberFirst School BRONZE

We have recently been awarded CyberFirst School BRONZE status. The CyberFirst Schools programme celebrates schools that demonstrate a clear commitment to delivering excellent computing education and encouraging young people to explore pathways into cyber security and technology careers. Achieving Bronze status reflects the enthusiasm of our students, the dedication of our staff, and the range of opportunities we provide to develop digital knowledge and problem-solving skills.

We are incredibly proud of this achievement and grateful to everyone who has contributed to building such a positive culture around computing and cyber awareness in our school.

This is just the beginning — we are already working towards the next milestone: CyberFirst School Silver status!
