FAMILY DISCO- Wednesday 26th October

We are delighted to be hosting our first big family event post covid! Interest in this event was huge, thanks to everyone who applied for tickets using the link on the app/blog/twitter. Over 170 people have asked to attend. In order to ensure everyone can safely have fun we have had to split the disco into 2 sessions.

Tickets were sent home today- please look carefully to check if you are attending the 430-515pm slot or 530-615pm slot. Unfortunately we are unable to swap you into a different time slot. If you no longer wish to attend please call the school office and leave a message for Mrs Chalmers. Please note there are no tickets left for this event.

P7 to S1 Transfer

All Primary 7 parents should have received a letter directly from CBS Hub with information on transfer to Secondary School. These were sent out by the hub on Wednesday 12th October. Please ensure these letters are returned directly to CBS Hub as they are not something we can process in school. If you did not receive a letter to your home address please let the school office know.

If you wish to make a placing request for your child for Secondary School the online form can be found here

Govan Help

Last week Mrs Chalmers visited Govan Help to discuss the variety of services they provide to local families. All families living within the G51/G52 postcode are welcome. They are based in the Pearce Institute which is around a 20 minute walk from Ibrox Primary.

The Family Learning sessions run on Thursdays after school. They have just finished a block of Zumba and are currently doing a block of family games. The block after the October holiday week will be led by the Glasgow Science Centre and focus on STEM activities.

On a Thursday morning they run Govan Tots, for any children under 5 and parents.

On a Thursday afternoon they run a parent support group for parents of children with Autism or other neurodivergent conditions. This group allows parents to support each other and share advice.

Govan Help can also provide support with any issues around housing, benefits or debt. See attached pictures for more info on all sessions. If anyone would like any further info please speak to Mrs Chalmers

Parent Helpers

Following on from feedback gathered at our Meet the Teacher event we are looking to gather names of parents who would be willing to support as helpers with Outdoor Learning/ Class trips. Some of these would be weekly commitments and some would be one off trips. If you are able to help in any way please leave your name below and we will be in touch with details of relevant trips.

We appreciate that your work/life commitments may change week to week so would be in touch with specific info for relevant classes.

Road Closure

The stretch of Edminston Drive outside our playground has been closed for further works which will last at least 2 weeks. Our double gate is still accessible but we would ask parents to not wait directly outside the gates but beyond the bin at the top of this picture. As this road is closed to traffic can we remind all parents to drive responsibly and safely around the school as other roads will be busier. Please do not park on kerbs or corners as this makes pavements and road crossing unsafe for children and their families.
