Water Bottles

Please remember to send your child to school with a full water bottle, especially important in this week’s warm weather. Our water fountains are currently still off as per last session. Hopefully we will be able to have these back soon. All children have the option to have milk/water in the packed lunch room or dinner hall in addition to water they bring, Please remember that children should have water in their bottles not juice or fizzy juice.

Playground Q&A catch up sessions

It was lovely to see our new P1 parents on Friday to discuss how the first week had gone and answer any questions. We would like to invite parents of our older children to join us in the playground, to ask any questions they may have, at the above times. If you have children in different year groups please attend the session which suits best.

Photo permission

Morning all,

It was lovely to see everyone looking so happy and smart this morning. We have a new consent form for photo permission (see attached document) which is now required in Glasgow schools.

Social Media Consent.docx

This consent allows children to be photographed/videoed and the images/film used on our school communication channels. At Ibrox all staff use Twitter, Showbie, we have our school app, Youtube channel, and blog (our website.) As you will be aware we love to share our learning and it is a great way of showing all our wonderful work, giving you an insight to what happens in your child’s classroom. The new social media consent form will be sent home today. Please sign this and return ASAP- by Friday 20th August at latest, as until we have the forms back we are unable to share  photos on any of our platforms.

If you wish to discuss any aspect of this please call the school and ask to speak to me.

Kind Regards

Mrs Chalmers

P1 staring school arrangements

We are looking forward to welcoming our new Primary 1 children to start school.

Arrangements for the first week are as follows,

Monday 16th August

  • AM- children should come into the playground at 9:10am through the main gate and can be accompanied by parents. Parents can take a photo and children will be met by their class teacher, SfLWs, CDO and the management team. Class teachers will take the children to class from here.
  • PM- children should be collected at 1:30pm from the playground. Class teachers will bring them to the playground at this time.

Please note that a 2m distance should be maintained between adults and face coverings worn in the playground.

Tuesday- Friday

Parents should remain outside the gates

  • AM- children should arrive at school for a soft start between 8:50 and 9am. Children should be left at the main gate to enter the playground and will go straight to class.
  • PM- children will be brought to the playground by their class teacher at 2:50pm and will be dismissed when the teacher sees a parent between 2:50 and 3pm.

On Friday we would like to take the opportunity to answer any questions or concerns from the first week. Members of the management team will be in the playground at either 9:05am or 2:30pm to discuss any queries.

If you have any questions regarding these plans please email Headteacher@ibrox-pri.glasgow.sch.uk or use the direct message function on @ibroxps Twitter account.
