Ibrox Primary School

ASL

Mrs Chalmers is the school’s Additional Support for Learning Co-ordinator. Class teachers meet with Mrs Chalmers on a termly busy to discuss all children in their class and any support needs. If you have anything you wish to discuss with Mrs Chalmers please contact the school office to make an appointment.

There is a variety of support available at Ibrox-

Core Nurture- Children attend morning Nurture Sessions in the Badger’s Den each day with Miss Kenedy

Upper Nurture- afternoon sessions working on a variety of skills to improve confidence and self esteem

Play Therapy- Play Therapy is a type of therapeutic support that recognises how hard it can be for children to communicate only through words.  Play and art are a child’s language, and a child uses these as a way of communicating their thoughts, feelings and experiences.  Play therapists work alongside children to create a trusting therapeutic relationship, which is crucial in helping a child to feel understood.  Research tells us how powerful it can be to feel better understood.

Ibrox Forest School- working with Miss Whitehead and Miss Kennedy developing team work in a supportive group environment.

Season’s For Growth- Builds knowledge and skills to strengthen the emotional wellbeing and resilience of children and young people following experiences of significant change and loss.

Counselling Services- external agencies supporting pupils with a variety of issues

Quarriers Self Esteem- for P6 and P7 children to develop self esteem

If you think your child would benefit from any of the additional support we offer please complete the attached form. Please note groups are reviewed termly.
