We could not be prouder of our Primary 7 poets. Here is the winning entry, enjoy!

Glasgow Smiles

Glasgow oh Glasgow what a welcoming place

Come to us for a warm embrace

Sectarianism gone, we’ve moved on

We’re united – our new dawn

Where everyone’s free, no matter the race

We’ve got all from every faith.

If you want to learn our History

People’s Palace is the place to be

And have a wee nosey doon by the Clyde

That’s our river glistening with pride

Wave at the Duke with the cone on his head

Discover oor secrets, much more to be said.

Cultural food from across the world

Divine dishes to be devoured

Noo, help yourself to a tattie scone

A roll and fritter from the Blue Lagoon?

Shortbread, samosas, haggis, scotch pies

Food a’ dancing before your eyes

The pakora’s finished! I should have known

Not to worry, Irn Bru lives on!

So come take a walk doon our Glesga streets

Loads of people to meet and greet

Cause there’s mair to us that meets the eye

And this is where your adventure lies

‘People make Glasgow’ you hear us say

We’ve got a point – by the way!
