Hillhead Jazz band are based in Hillhead High School in the west end of Glasgow.

They sometimes play jazz … and always have vocalists.

Soul, Funk, Rock has been known to feature in the band’s repertoire.

A set will contain tunes from our up to date Set List.

 

Over the years the band have briefly also been known as The Brenda Collective, The Urban Duvets and The HJBs.

 

We are, and have always been, open to experimentation with the repertoire and instrumental make up of the band.

 

The 2019 line-up features, vocals, rhythm section, violin, cello and clarinet, perfectly suited for tunes like Agnes Obel’s “Familiar”.

 

 

Previously, the Hillhead Jazz Band were fortunate enough to have a “horn” section featuring violin, French horn and bassoon..
