The Hillhead Jazz Band June 2019

The band played a cracking set including a jazz tribute to rock music.

A swing version of Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now was sandwiched between Feeling Good, and Life On Mars.

 

 

 

 

The Hillhead Jazz Band play jazz shocker…

Audience members at the Hillhead Christmas Concert were rocked by the news that the Hillhead Jazz Band were to begin their set with the Benny Golson jazz standard Whisper Not.

The latest line up features a classic rhythm section, and a horn section of violin, French horn and bassoon players – all of whom are embracing the art of improvisation.

For the rest of the set they were joined by our 3 vocalists – each with an identifiable sound and unique approach, yet able to blend together.
