Hi Superstars

I am Miss McKenzie. I have been a PE teacher at Govan High School since 2016. I have loved every minute of my time here.

My favourite sport to watch is Football, however I love to play volleyball and basketball.

I organise the school football teams, S1 multi-sports clubs, girls fitness clubs and Young Ambassadors.

This academic year I am teaching core PE, National 4, 5 and Higher PE. I will be offering a National 5 supported study Wednesday lunch time and a Higher supported study Wednesday afterschool.

Out with the P.E department I led the Community Champs group which is a group of senior pupils who organise the school charity events.  Outside of teaching I have volunteered at PEEK – a Children’s charity for 7 years, during school holidays I take part summer programmes for primary kids and play sessions.

My Govan High School highlight is playing Staff vs Pupils volleyball match in the sun listening to GBX tunes.

To become a P.E teacher I attended the University of Edinburgh for 4 years. The course was a BEd in Physical Education. Whilst attending University I travelled for 3 hours per day and worked 2 part-time jobs.
