Children’s Rights Advent Calendar 2024

This term our Rights Club has created an Advent Calendar to promote Children’s Rights. Behind each door in December is a video highlighting our favourite UNCRC Articles. Classes will take the chance to think about and discuss these important rights each day. Click on the link below to see it in action…..

Here’s a sneak peek behind door number 1…..

Creating School and Class Charters

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) is at the heart of our school’s planning, policies, practice and ethos. As a Gold rights-respecting school, we not only teach about children’s rights in the classroom but model rights respecting language and attitudes in all of our relationships.

Every year, each class creates an agreed ‘class charter’. These are in addition to our whole school charter and playground charter. Pupil participation and pupil voice informs the development of these agreed charters.

Rights Club Animation 2023

Our Rights Club had fun using their digital skills to create these animations. The children chose a UNCRC Article which was important to them and explained why. We shared them at assembly and with our families to help spread the word about Children’s Rights – a great way to put Article 42 into action ‘All adults and children should know about the UNCRC.’
