Our school has been on an incredible Digital Journey, and it’s just the beginning!
Digital Learning Strategy Carmyle – Take a look at our Digital Learning Strategy!
- In 2017 we recruited our very first group of Digital Leaders. They had weekly training sessions with Mrs McEachran and helped support and teach other learners and staff. They had a whirlwind of a year! They visited Strathclyde University to teach student teachers, worked with learners from Eastmuir Primary for weekly digital workshops and had visits from teachers and other learners from schools within and out with Glasgow!
- We purchased new iPads, Kindles, Spheros, Micro:bit and Green Screening equipment to help support our learners to develop their digital skills
- We also purchased iPads for our staff. Carmyle Primary have been allocated the session of 2020 for the Digital Transformation that is happening within Glasgow City Council. Please do not hesitate to ask Mrs McEachran for more information on this
- We developed our school’s Digital Strategy and will share this with all learners, parents and carers and staff to allow us to continue our school’s shared vision
- Mrs McEachran was asked to present at the Connecting the Learning Conference and at a Sharing Practice event. She has also been asked to be a member of the Primary Focus Group for the Digital Transformation in Glasgow
- In June, we were visited by Jen Mackay (validator from Digital Schools Award Scotland). She visited classes, met with Mrs McEachran, Mrs Baird, parents and pupils. She also attended a Digital Showcase
- We achieved our Digital Schools Award! 1 of only 4 primary schools in Glasgow to have achieved this!
