Primary 2 Explore the Scottish Isles! 🏴🏝️

Primary 2 have had a fantastic time learning all about the Scottish isles! 🌊 We discovered lots about Scottish music and even got to learn about some of the instruments thanks to Sean. 🎶

A special visitor, Mrs Weston from the Acorn Room, came to tell us about her life growing up on South Uist. It was amazing to hear her stories and see what life is like on the islands. 🏡

We have really enjoyed this topic and have learned so much about Scotland, its music, and its people. What a fun way to explore the Scottish isles! 🌟

📏 Primary 7/6 Get Hands-On with Measuring!

Primary 7/6 have been busy developing their measuring skills in Maths over the past few weeks. The class explored a range of measuring tools, including rulers and tape measures, to measure different parts of their bodies.

After carefully recording their measurements, the pupils then applied their numeracy skills by multiplying their answers by 10 and 100. This allowed them to practise and reinforce key multiplication strategies they learned earlier in the year.

It was a fantastic way to combine practical learning with mental maths skills, and everyone enjoyed seeing how maths can be used in real-life situations!

A Special Visit from Finnie! 🏅✨

Today, Camstradden pupils were very lucky to meet a very special visitor – Finnie, the mascot for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games!

There was lots of excitement around the school as we learned all about the Commonwealth Games and what will be happening in Glasgow in 2026. Pupils discovered which countries take part, the different sports involved, and why the Games are such an important event.

We didn’t just learn – we got active too! Everyone had great fun joining in with sporty challenges and quizzes. There was plenty of teamwork, cheering and smiling throughout the day.

It was a fantastic experience for everyone and has definitely inspired us to get active and try our best.
