Camstradden Primary School

Our P7 pupils have been busy creating beautiful cherry blossom drawings! They have been developing a range of artistic skills, including careful observation, drawing techniques, line work and attention to detail. They explored how to use different shades of colour, create texture and add depth to their artwork.

The pupils also practised patience, creativity and perseverance as they brought their cherry blossom trees to life. We are so impressed with their fantastic efforts and the beautiful results! 🌸🎨

We have been very lucky to welcome Ewan from Celtic Connections, who has been teaching the children how to play the traditional Scottish bodhrán!

The children have been enjoying learning about this wonderful instrument, discovering its unique sound and having a go at creating their own rhythms.

A fantastic opportunity to explore Scottish music, develop new skills and have lots of fun along the way!

Our P7 pupils had a fantastic time welcoming Drumchapel United Football Club to our school! The coaches delivered an engaging football session, giving pupils the opportunity to get active, develop their football skills and learn through a range of fun activities.

The session encouraged teamwork, communication and sportsmanship, while allowing everyone to challenge themselves, build confidence and enjoy being part of a team. It was wonderful to see our P7 pupils getting involved, supporting one another and showing such enthusiasm throughout the session! 🙌

A huge thank you to Drumchapel United for taking the time to visit us and provide such a valuable experience for our pupils. We really appreciate the opportunity to learn from the coaches and enjoy a fun-filled session! 👏

P6 have been using Elkonin boxes to support their spelling! By breaking words down into individual sounds, pupils have been strengthening their phonological awareness and developing greater confidence in their spelling.

We were delighted to welcome the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service to our school to speak to our P6 and P7 pupils about the importance of bonfire safety.

The children learned valuable advice about staying safe around bonfires and fireworks, as well as the importance of making sensible choices and looking out for others during the Bonfire Night celebrations.

A huge thank you to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service for taking the time to visit us and share such important safety messages with our pupils. Your visit helped us understand how we can all play our part in keeping our community safe! 👏

 

We are absolutely delighted to share the fantastic news that Mrs Reside has been permanently appointed as Depute Headteacher at Camstradden!

This is a wonderful and well-deserved achievement, recognising Mrs Reside’s dedication, commitment and the positive contribution she makes to our school community.

A huge thank you to CREATE for coming in to work with our children yesterday and giving them such a fantastic opportunity to explore music, singing and performance.

The children had a wonderful time taking part in singing activities, building their confidence, expressing themselves creatively and enjoying music together. It was lovely to see everyone getting involved, supporting one another and having so much fun!

The session was full of smiles, laughter and enthusiasm, and it was fantastic to see the children stepping outside their comfort zones and giving everything a go.

Every Monday, our children have the opportunity to take part in cycling practice with Drumchapel Cycle Hub.

The sessions provide a fun and supportive environment where children can develop their cycling skills, build confidence and enjoy being active outdoors. 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️

It is fantastic to see the children learning new skills, supporting one another and enjoying their time on two wheels. We are very grateful to Drumchapel Cycle Hub for helping our pupils become more confident and enthusiastic cyclists.
