P4/3 Leaders Of Learning

P4/3 shared their learning with P3, P5/4 and P5 this week. They led a ‘Who Poisoned the Big Bad Wolf?’ activity. The mini detectives were tasked to review the evidence and lift fingerprints. Luckily every group was able to solve the mystery and capture the culprit! #confidentindividuals #learningtogether #collaborativelearning

P3 Hannukah

This term, Primary Three have been learning about the Jewish festival of ‘Hanukkah’.  We have enjoyed creating dreidels and beautiful menorahs.  We celebrated the festival of ‘Hanukkah’, which begins on the 7th December 2023, by having our own ‘Shabbat’ meal.  Miss Callander cooked us a feast of ‘latkes’ which was made from onion and potatoes.  We loved it!

Drumwealth Games 2023!

On Friday 9th June,  the Drumwealth games swept through Drumchapel once again. This year marked 10 years since the concept was born. Camstradden pupils enjoyed a fun filled day of football, pickle ball, tennis, cycling, taekwondo and basketball alongside our friends from other local schools. The sun shone in Drumchapel and the pupils all had a fabulous day. A HUGE thank you to all of  the local clubs who supported the event and also to Fiona Kirk, our amazing Active Schools Coordinator for organising the event. How many days until the next Drumwealth!?

A Fond Farewell from Miss Davidson (Acting Headteacher)

Dear Families,

As most of you will be aware tomorrow (Wednesday) is my last day as Acting Headteacher at Camstradden Primary. On Thursday I will be taking up post as Headteacher of Wallacewell Primary in Robroyston. Mr Clark (DHT) and Mrs Reside (Acting DHT) will be managing the school for the last few weeks of term.

It feels like only yesterday I started in post as Acting Headteacher and I am so very sad to be leaving. Being Headteacher at Camstradden has been a wonderful experience for me and I have loved every minute of it.

During my time at Camstradden I have –

  • Worked collaboratively across the school community through highs and lows.

  • Driven forward school improvement to ensure we are getting it right for our young people.

  • Led the school through a very successful HMIe inspection.

  • Built strong relationships with colleagues and families.

  • And most importantly, have developed relationships with your outstanding children based on mutual respect and trust.

The Camstradden school community is a spectacular place to work and learn. I want to thank you for trusting in me to care for your children. I wish everyone, pupils, staff and families alike, all the very best for the future. I look forward to hearing about Camstradden’ s continued journey from good to great.

As I have said to the children its not a goodbye forever just a cheerio for now!

Yours

Miss Davidson (Acting Head Teacher)
