Blairdardie Primary School

School iPad issues

All of our P7 pupils have been issued an iPad to use at school and for home learning. Some pupils from P1-P6 also received iPads as part of the Scottish Government Digital inclusion grant.

If you have a school iPad at home and your child cannot access any websites or is having issues with the internet, please follow the instructions for the PROXY authentication box below. Most internet issues can be solved by resetting the PROXY authentication and making sure the iPad software is up to date.

Please note that pupils will need to type in their AD Network username and Password when the PROXY box pops up. All pupils were given this information during the iPad rollout, but please contact the school if this information has been lost.

PROXY help BPS iPads

The council’s IT department has also suggested the following if pupils have entered their Proxy details, restarted their iPad and are still having internet issues:

  1. Go to iPad settings then Wifi Settings. Tap on the blue i button next to the name of the Home wifi network. Tap forget wifi.

  2. Restart iPad

  3. When iPad turns back on, connect again to home Wi-Fi.

  4. Restart iPad again. When it starts, tap on Safari and try to access a webpage, e.g. BBC. If Proxy appears, pupil should enter AD network username and password. iPad should connect to internet now.

If your iPad is still having issues connecting to the internet, please get in contact with the school. We have a form you can complete here: Help with Glow and Seesaw

Other Technical support- for P1-6 families only

We want young people to get the best out of the kit they are being sent home with. To achieve this, Glasgow City Council have set up a partnership with Glasgow Life to provide technical support to families who have received a Digital inclusion iPad for the next 12 months. Glasgow Life will operate a free phone helpline for Parents and Carers to help them support their children at home with the devices we have provided them. They will provide support to all parents and carers.  If you have any difficulty with  the devices you have received from the school through this initiative, please call Glasgow Life’s Digital Support Freephone Helpline on 0800 158 3974 for free and friendly advice to help you get up and running.
