This Week in P7a..
We have had another busy week this week filled with lots of new learning!
At the start of the week we began planning a non-fiction recount story on our favourite school trip, and on Friday we used different writing strategies to help us write it on our own. We have also been focusing a lot on phoneme families, and looking at how this can help us with our reading and spelling.
We enjoyed taking part in a SumDog challenge as part of our maths homework, it was different to our usual maths worksheets and a lot more fun!
Since we have been learning so much about India for our IDL this term, we thought it would be great to use our art skills and create individual pictures of the Taj Mahal.
First we had to cut out the template and trace around it, this required a lot of attention and focus. Look how hard we are concentrating!
Once that stage was finished, we then covered the drawing in wax crayon, and stuck down lots of different coloured tissue paper both on and around the outline.
We used water to stick the tissue paper down so that the colours would run on to the page. The places where we used wax crayon should remain white and create a marble effect, like the real Taj Mahal. Finally, we had to let the paper dry before pulling it off.
Stay tuned next week for the results!!
