Homework: Wednesday 21st March (Completed)

Homework this week consists of:

1.) 10 spelling words to be written (in rainbow colours, newspaper cutouts, in sand with a photo taken etc) three times and three sentences in their homework jotter. You can mix and match the three ways you do it; write one in rainbow colours, cut one set out in newspapers and just type the last one etc – it is up to you!

2.) BugClub Reading Books/Online Bugclub – pages to be read/task will be written on homework marker to do in your homework jotter/Glow Blogs.

  • Draw a scene and explain why – Pick a scene from the chapter that you have read, or from somewhere in your book, and draw it.  Then explain in a couple of sentences why you liked it, or thought it was significant/important to the story as a whole.
  • Summarise up to…. – Summarise what you have read.  This does not mean copying the story word-for-word, but rather, take out the main parts of the story (the main idea/key idea) and re-write it into your own words in 3-4 sentences.

3.) Sumdog Competition – Please spend at least 1 hour on Sumdog for homework this week.  It starts tomorrow (Friday 16th March) at 8am, and finishes at 8pm on March 22nd!

Here are some rules to follow:

  • Students can play at any time.
  • For the score to count, the Glasgow Maths Contest activity must be showing in the green panel on the left of the student’s screen when they click to start each game.
  • Their scores are based on correct answers.
  • A class’s score is the average of the scores from all students from that class who take part.
