Crowne Plaza visit

Primary 4 have been working with the staff from the Hilton and Crowne Plaza hotel this year to learn about cooking and serving food in a restaurant.

This week we got to visit the Crowne Plaza hotel and learn all about place settings and hygiene for waiting staff.  We also got to fold napkins and try pouring water into a glass.

It was a real treat and primary 4 were very excited.

Cheers!

Happy New Year

In PE we have started football with a specialised coach.  The class was very excited about this!

We are also learning a Scottish Dance, which we will perform at the Burns Assembly. Her is a video of another school doing the dance, in case  you want to watch at home:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fc_pcEo7j4c

At the Burns assembly we are going to sing the Scottish National Anthem.  Here is the song and lyrics for you to sing along at home: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPaJhlIIYjM

We have started our new topic, learning about Leonardo Da Vinci. This will be part of our STEAM topic: science, technology, engineering, art and maths.

We made some clay Diya lamps, ready for our assembly next week.

Hopefully we will have time to paint them before our assembly.

We’ve also been learning about rangoli patterns.  We made some using the pattern shapes, though we also made some other pictures too!

We hope you can come to our assembly next Friday!

Here are a few photos of just some of our learning – tiling patterns, a taste investigation, and our artwork linked to the Romans!
