We have finally finished our European landmarks. It was a big project and even though some of us did not manage to meet the success criteria, we discussed how we could improve it and also looked at the good things about it.

 

Here are our evaluations and finished landmarks:

Belgium: Two good things about our model was that it had an amazing base and it was painted as realistically as possible.  We could have improved it by making the model lighter because the weight of it kept tipping it over.  The body was also too thin and it would have been better if it was thicker and more heavy.  It was not as successful as we had hoped because it fell apart when we tried to combine the body to the feet.  The body and head were too heavy!      (Comments made by: Amelia, Iona, Macy, Hala)

 

 

 

Spain: Two good things about our model that we were proud of is that it’s linked to the country and that it uses the colours of the Spanish flag.  We could have improved out model by giving it a stronger base support at the sides.  It wasn’t quite successful because it didn’t balance well.         (Comments made by: Sam, Ahmed Alhu, Abdull and Kabir)

 

Ireland: Two good things about our model was that the model was sturdy and the paint layered on very well and did not slide off.  We could have improved it by using more support/different types of connection for the toilet rolls.  It was not successful because we did not give enough support to the toilet rolls (side turret building) and the rolls kept falling apart whenever we taped them. Plus, we did not meet the success criteria of being 1 metre tall or 1 metre long. (Comments made by: khadijah, Haneeah, Eva and Fatimah)

 

 

France: Two things that worked for our model was that the Eiffel Tower replication shows the French Flag colours, and we have painted to croissant brown to keep it realistic.  We could have improved our model by painting it with more layers.  However, it was not successful because it was not quite 1 metre tall and the paint kept peeling off.               (Comments made by: Jay, Ahmed Alib, Asfhan)

 

Italy: Two good things about our model was that it was quite sturdy and it could stand freely by itself.  We could improve our model by making its shape better and squeeze the model into a more circular position by taping the cardboard better. If we worked a little faster too, we could have added more detail to it.  It was successful, however, because it was 1 metre long and could stand by itself.                    (Comments made by: Jordan, Shivangi and Ada,m)

 

 

United Kingdom (UK): The first good thing about our model is that it is 1 metre long and it can stand up on its own.  We could have improved it further though by making it more colourful.  It was successful because we worked together as a team. (Comments made by: Petar, Abi, Ike and Reece)
