Today if you chose to you can revise the concept of money. You can complete one of the worksheet tasks below if you choose.

Alternatively

Set up a pretend shop in your house… just like the grocery shop in class one. Use your imagination. It could be a toy shop or a food shop.

Could you use sticky post its or stickers to price items. You could invite a sibling or member of your family and use real or toy money to buy and sell objects. Try and work out the change you’ll need to give them if they buy something.

1-1.30 pm: Fine Motor Skills

One of the really important aspects of our daily school life is play. These play based experiences help us make sense of the world around us and also assist in our development of fine and gross motor skills which impacts on our cognitive activity and even our pencil grip etc.

I have attached a suggested activity you could try at home to help develop these skills.

1.30-2.30pm: Outdoor Learning

Follow along Mr Corrigans video full of suggestions of things you can look for when out and about in your garden, local park or street. You could follow this up by working on a nature journal if you choose. Look out for all the adjectives Mr Corrigan uses to describe what he finds.

  • Get a snack and a drink
  • Get somewhere comfy – on cushions/sofa/bed, under a blanket
  • Get one of your parents or a brother/sister to listen with you
