Tuesday!
Good morning everyone. Thank you for sharing your news pictures as always. This is such a special way for us all to stay connected with each other and keep in touch. Remember you can use the comments space on the blog to leave messages to each other. I know you’ll be missing each other lots. See the Weekend News post below.
Ross thank you so much for sharing this awesome Science work from yesterday afternoon. It was fantastic to see you also sharing the learning going on in your own home with your planted seeds.

9:30-10:00: Literacy
Writing- Use your jotter to practise writing the common words included in your at home learning pack.
Again if you need some help ask an adult to dot your words for you so you can trace them. You could write these out two times each and remember to make sure you remember to sound them out so you know what you’re writing.
This is a simple but effective activity which also helps our children work on the presentation of their writing.
If you need inspiration for more words to practise reading and writing here’s a list of 100 high frequency words…
If you’d like to give yourself a bit more of a challenge make up some silly sentences using your high frequency words… here are some examples below to inspire you.

11:15-12:15: Maths
Today we’re going to revise the pattern work we did during Term 2 and throughout a variety of play based learning activities in the classroom.

12:15-1pm: Lunch
1-1.30 pm: Fine Motor Skills
One of the really important aspects of our daily school life is play. These play based experiences help us make sense of the world around us and also assist in our development of fine and gross motor skills which impacts on our cognitive activity and even our pencil grip etc.
I have attached a suggested activity you could try at home to help develop these skills.
1.30-2.30pm: Cooking
Join Miss Graham in her kitchen and see how she makes pancakes. Can you try this at home?
If so, remember to ask an adult first before ever completing a cooking task and ensure to always WASH HANDS first.

2-2:30pm: Break Time
2:30-3pm: Story and chat
At the end of each day, we will send you stories to listen to/read. Some of these will be read by your lovely St. Albert’s teachers, others might be by famous authors. To get ready for the story:
- Get a snack and a drink
- Get somewhere comfy – on cushions/sofa/bed, under a blanket
- Get one of your parents or a brother/sister to listen with you
Here are today’s stories:
P1-3 Today we have Mr Corrigan reading one of our class favourite’s The Bear Hunt, however today you have a choice, you can listen to the story in English or make it a little bit more interesting and listen to the story in Scots. How funny! I hope you enjoy as much as I did!

P4-7 Today we have Mrs Brightman reading chapters 4-6 of Fantastic Mr Fox. Snuggle up and enjoy, try and follow along as she reads.
Ross, what great science work! I am very impressed with your seeds, they seem to be growing so well. You must give me your plant growing tips when we’re back to school as I always find it tricky to keep plants alive! Lovely writing on your worksheets too 🙂
